Rocky Mountain Youth Corps, in partnership with the New Mexico Department of Health, helps to reduce underage drinking, DWI and tobacco use among young people in Taos County. To accomplish our goals we raise awareness through media campaigns, support local businesses in reducing underage sales, and collaborate with other entities committed to substance abuse prevention and treatment. Partnering with the community we strive to bring positive programming to the schools and effective policy to our town. Our vision for a healthier Taos is to reduce the harmful effect of substance abuse on our community.

Taos Alive Taos County DWI, Taos Municipal Schools, Holy Cross Hospital, Town of Taos, Juvenile Probation and Parole Office, Dream Tree Project, the Gorge Bar and Grill and Taos Mesa Brewery
Project Outcomes:
- In our 4th year of gathering over 800 surveys conducted grades 6-9th, to gather information and trend data related to ATOD (Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs) use and misuse.
- 10 years of collecting New Mexico Community Survey, a convenience survey that collects attitudes and perceptions regarding ATOD use and misuse among 18years and over member of the community
- Work with Special Investigation Unit State Police, to train and educate the service industry on responsible service practices.
- Parents Who Host Lose the Most campaign regarding the harms of providing alcohol to minors, present in Taos High School and Taos Middle School.
- Work with Taos County DWI to increase law enforcement efforts to reduce DWI and Underage Drinking.
- Producing our 2nd annual Art Show, highlighting the artistry of our youth and promoting their voice for a healthier community.
